Role Overview
This position is central to a busy reproductive health clinic that is currently expanding to meet growing patient demand. You will take ownership of the full patient journey, from initial assessment and diagnosis through to treatment or referral, while also playing a hands-on role in clinic management and service growth. Day to day, you will balance clinical consultations, gynecological procedures, patient education, and strategic initiatives to broaden the clinic's impact within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out holistic reproductive health evaluations, covering medical history, sexual health, contraceptive needs, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening.
- Deliver a broad spectrum of services including contraception management, pre-conception guidance, and pregnancy options counseling tailored to each patient's circumstances.
- Work alongside Penda Health teams to design and roll out community education and reproductive health promotion campaigns.
- Perform routine gynecological examinations and screenings, such as Pap smears, breast checks, and pelvic assessments, ensuring accurate collection and follow-up.
- Offer compassionate counseling and support to individuals and couples navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, or other reproductive health difficulties.
- Keep meticulous, up-to-date patient records while adhering fully to Penda Health's clinical documentation, confidentiality, and privacy standards.
- Partner with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, coordinated care and smooth transitions across services.
- Provide virtual reproductive health consultations and follow-up support in cooperation with Pigia Penda and affiliated medical centers to maintain continuity of care.
- Develop and implement practical strategies to expand the clinic's patient base, improve service delivery, and support the clinic's long-term success.
- Remain current with reproductive health research and clinical best practices, actively engaging in professional development and ongoing training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least one year of post-training experience specifically within reproductive health services.
- A Higher National Diploma in Reproductive Health, Comprehensive Reproductive Health, or an equivalent qualification.
- A Basic Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or a Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
- Demonstrated proficiency in contraception counselling and provision, STI screening and treatment, and fertility-related outpatient care, along with other common reproductive health procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining high clinical standards and sound judgment.
