Job Description

Role Overview

This role places you at the center of our lending operations, where you will manage the full client journey from initial inquiry through to successful repayment. Day to day, you will meet with prospective borrowers, assess their financial situations, and guide them toward suitable loan products, while also nurturing existing relationships to ensure consistent portfolio growth and timely collections. Your efforts directly impact our ability to extend credit responsibly and maintain a healthy, profitable loan book.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source new loan clients through referrals, networking, and follow-up on inbound inquiries, while retaining and expanding relationships with existing borrowers.
  • Evaluate loan applications by reviewing financial documents, verifying income and collateral, and conducting basic credit risk assessments before recommending approval.
  • Meet individual and team targets for monthly loan disbursement volumes, ensuring funds are allocated to creditworthy applicants.
  • Monitor repayment schedules and take prompt action on overdue accounts, using structured follow-ups to achieve collection targets while preserving client goodwill.
  • Provide clear, courteous, and accurate guidance to clients regarding loan terms, interest rates, repayment options, and required documentation.
  • Resolve client complaints and service issues quickly, escalating complex cases to senior staff when necessary to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, loan files, and collection activities in our internal systems.
  • Stay informed on current lending policies, regulatory requirements, and market trends to offer relevant advice and remain compliant in every transaction.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • 0 to 6 months of hands-on experience as a loan officer, collection officer, or relationship officer in a financial services environment; recent graduates with relevant internships are welcome.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts in simple terms to diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, including active listening, empathy, and a patient, professional demeanour when handling client concerns.
  • Solid negotiation abilities, enabling you to settle repayment plans and resolve disputes in a way that benefits both the client and the company.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with spreadsheets and familiarity with loan management or CRM software is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail when handling confidential financial information.
