Engineering Projects & Maintenance Engineer (Petroleum Facilities)

Role Overview

This position owns the full life cycle of assigned engineering work across company installations — from first concept sketches and tender documentation through to handover, and then on into the maintenance regimes that keep those assets running safely. Working across civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines, you will balance project delivery against the day-to-day reliability of facilities and equipment, making sure statutory, group and company standards are met on every site. The role matters because it sits at the intersection of safety compliance, capital spend and asset uptime: decisions made here directly determine whether petroleum facilities stay certified, available and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality: Deliver and support contractor training sessions — including Work Site Safety Training — to raise safety awareness among external work crews.
• Standards compliance: Verify that every installation carried out on company sites aligns with group, company and statutory requirements.
• Certification and audit follow-through: Drive the implementation and upkeep of certifications such as ISSSRS, and close out actions arising from internal audits, EDOC reviews, TRA and SafetyTours findings.
• Design and procurement: Produce initial designs, scope definitions and specifications, and compile tender documents for allocated projects.
• Project delivery: Manage allocated projects end to end so they are completed on time, within agreed scope and inside budget, following established company procedures.
• Value engineering: Contribute to ongoing value engineering reviews that improve the return delivered by both capital projects and maintenance programmes.
• Maintenance strategy: Support the roll-out of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance across all facilities and equipment.
• Performance monitoring and improvement: Review KPIs from the various maintenance schedules to confirm programmes meet company requirements, and drive continuous improvement in equipment and facility upkeep.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience covering both project management and design within engineering processes.
• Working knowledge of technical and HSE standards applicable to petroleum sites.
• Strong analytical and supervisory capabilities, with the confidence to oversee contractors and internal teams.
• High level of personal integrity and a proven ability to deliver against strict deadlines.
