Job Description

Role Overview

You will take ownership of all engineering and maintenance activity across a high-volume beverage production site, making sure lines run at maximum efficiency with minimal unplanned downtime. Your days will be split between the plant floor, where you solve equipment failures and coach technicians, and the planning office, where you shape maintenance schedules, manage budgets, and drive capital projects. This role matters because the reliability of every machine, utility, and system you oversee directly determines whether the plant meets its output targets, quality standards, and safety commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for high-speed beverage filling, packaging, and processing lines to keep overall equipment effectiveness at peak levels.
  • Lead root cause analysis on recurring line stoppages and equipment failures, then implement reliability improvements that permanently eliminate repeat issues.
  • Manage critical plant utilities — including boilers, air compressors, refrigeration systems, water treatment, and electrical power distribution — to ensure uninterrupted supply to production.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from scoping and equipment installation to plant modifications and commissioning, while controlling CAPEX and engineering budgets.
  • Guarantee availability of spare parts and critical spares inventory, working closely with procurement to balance cost against the risk of downtime.
  • Enforce HSE, food safety, GMP, and environmental standards across all engineering work, embedding a safety-first culture into every maintenance and installation task.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives, using OEE data to identify and remove productivity losses.
  • Lead, train, and develop a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring technical competencies stay current and that all maintenance records and SAP work orders are accurate and up to date.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 7–10 years of hands-on engineering experience in FMCG manufacturing, with at least 5 of those years specifically in beverage production.
  • Proven track record managing high-speed beverage lines, plant utilities, and structured preventive/predictive maintenance programs in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across both mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, conveyors, motors, drives, and packaging machinery.
  • Working knowledge of SAP maintenance modules (PM/MM), root cause analysis methodologies, and equipment reliability tools such as FMECA or RCM.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and applying Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, OEE improvement, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of relevant safety regulations, food safety standards (e.g., ISO 22000, HACCP), and GMP requirements in a food or beverage manufacturing setting.
