Description:
Direct Meds LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage accurate and timely payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 400+ employees across multiple entities and pay groups. This fully remote position is suited to a payroll professional who is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining accuracy and compliance in a fast-growing healthcare organization.
The successful candidate will handle payroll transactions, employee inquiries, audits, deductions, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements while working closely with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and Accounting teams. The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiency while maintaining strict confidentiality of employee information.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for approximately 400+ employees across multiple entities and pay groups.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve payroll-related concerns promptly.
• Process new hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, and other payroll transactions.
• Conduct payroll audits and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Administer wage garnishments, tax levies, benefit deductions, and other payroll withholdings.
• Reconcile payroll reports and maintain complete and accurate payroll records.
• Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and audits.
• Prepare payroll reports and maintain required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Accounting teams to maintain accurate employee data.
• Support payroll process improvements and system enhancements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of payroll processing or related payroll-focused experience.
• Experience processing payroll for a mid-sized organization.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Continuous learner with a growth-oriented mindset.
• CPP or FPC certification is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Payroll administration and processing
• Federal, state, and local payroll compliance
• Tax withholdings and wage garnishments
• Payroll audits and reconciliations
• Payroll systems and HRIS platforms
