Role Overview
This academic position calls for a dedicated university lecturer who will deliver high-quality instruction in a specific specialization while actively contributing to the institution’s research and scholarly mission. Day to day, you will prepare and present course content, guide students through assessments and independent projects, and remain engaged with the broader academic and professional community in your field. Your teaching and research output will directly support the university’s reputation and its ability to produce well-rounded, industry-ready graduates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across assigned courses within your area of specialization.
- Develop or revise course materials, syllabi, and assessment tools to reflect current disciplinary knowledge and professional standards.
- Set, mark, and moderate examinations, assignments, and practical work, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects, dissertations, or theses, offering guidance on research methodology and academic writing.
- Conduct original research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and present at academic or professional conferences.
- Participate in curriculum review committees and departmental meetings to help shape academic programs and policies.
- Engage in community outreach, consultancy, or professional practice that links the university to industry and wider society.
- Mentor students and junior academic staff, providing advice on academic progress, career development, and research opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in the relevant specialization from a recognized university; a PhD in the same or closely related field is strongly preferred.
- Proven teaching experience at the university level, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective instruction to diverse student groups.
- Where relevant to the discipline, demonstrable professional or industry experience that enriches classroom teaching and student mentorship.
- A clear record of scholarly output, research engagement, or professional contributions that demonstrate active participation in the field.
- Compliance with the requirements of the Commission for University Education (CUE) and any other applicable regulatory, statutory, or professional bodies.
- Current registration or membership with the relevant professional or regulatory body, if such registration is mandatory for the discipline.
