Role Overview

This position centres on delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate instruction within a specific academic department, while actively contributing to the university’s research output and community engagement agenda. You will be expected to design and deliver course content, assess student progress, and supervise projects and dissertations. Beyond teaching, your role involves sustained scholarly activity—publishing research, participating in academic conferences, and supporting the department’s strategic growth through curriculum development and professional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across assigned courses, ensuring content is current, rigorous, and aligned with the university’s academic standards.
• Design assessments, mark student work, and provide constructive feedback that supports learning and academic progression.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including dissertations and theses, guiding students through methodology and scholarly writing.
• Conduct original research in your area of specialisation, publishing findings in reputable journals and presenting at academic or professional forums.
• Participate in curriculum review and development, proposing improvements to course structures, reading lists, and assessment methods.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, addressing academic challenges and referring them to appropriate support services where needed.
• Contribute to departmental and faculty committees, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives as required.
• Engage with professional bodies, industry partners, and the wider community to enhance the university’s reach and the practical relevance of your teaching.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialisation from a recognised university is mandatory.
• A PhD in the same or closely related field is an added advantage and will be preferred for senior-level responsibilities.
• Demonstrable teaching experience at university level is required; professional or industry experience in the relevant field will also be considered positively.
• Evidence of scholarly output, research engagement, and/or meaningful professional practice in your area of specialisation is essential.
• You must meet the academic and professional standards set by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and any other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Where applicable, you must hold current registration or membership with the relevant professional or regulatory body, and provide proof of this status.
