Role Overview
As a professional driver for Bobu Africa, you will be the first and last impression guests have of their journey in Nairobi. Your day will revolve around safely transporting domestic and international travellers to airports, hotels, and tour destinations while ensuring every trip is smooth, comfortable, and punctual. This part-time role suits an experienced PSV licence holder who knows Nairobi inside out and takes genuine pride in delivering excellent customer service to visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely airport pickups and drop-offs, greeting guests courteously and assisting them with luggage from arrival to departure.
- Handle hotel transfers and private charters for tourists, ensuring a relaxed and secure travel experience throughout Nairobi and surrounding areas.
- Plan efficient routes ahead of each journey, using your knowledge of Nairobi traffic patterns to avoid delays and keep guests on schedule.
- Maintain the assigned seven-seater vehicle in spotless condition, performing daily checks on fuel, cleanliness, tyres, and overall roadworthiness.
- Interact professionally with both local and international guests, answering general questions about the city and making them feel welcome.
- Follow agreed itineraries and schedules strictly, remaining flexible for last-minute changes and part-time assignments.
- Represent Bobu Africa positively at all times, from your driving conduct to your communication with hotels, airport staff, and clients.
- Carry out any other driving-related duties that support the smooth running of guest transfers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid PSV driving licence, with 5 to 12 years of professional driving experience.
- Proven background in transporting tourists and international guests with discretion and cultural awareness.
- Hands-on experience driving seven-seater vehicles safely and confidently.
- Excellent working knowledge of Nairobi roads, hotels, suburbs, and surrounding areas, including alternative routes during peak traffic.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact warmly with travellers from diverse backgrounds.
- Professional personal presentation, courteous manner, and a track record of reliability and punctuality.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in or near Karen.
- Flexible availability for part-time assignments, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends when required.
