Role Overview
In this procurement role, you will source and purchase truck spare parts and other items needed to keep fleet operations running. You will coordinate with suppliers, track essential stock and maintain clear purchasing records so that orders meet operational needs, specifications and budget controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify suppliers and procure spare parts for trucks and other fleet requirements.
- Request and assess supplier quotations, comparing cost, availability and delivery terms.
- Confirm product specifications, quality and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare purchase orders and keep procurement documentation accurate and up to date.
- Track stock levels and arrange replenishment of essential parts before supplies run short.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders and required specifications, and follow up on discrepancies.
- Develop constructive working relationships with suppliers to support reliable purchasing.
- Follow company procurement procedures and ensure purchases remain within approved budgets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Procurement, Purchasing and Supplies Management, or a related discipline.
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience is an advantage; no specific number of years is stated.
- Familiarity with truck spare parts or automotive components is desirable.
- Strong negotiation, communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and competence in maintaining basic records.
- Careful attention to detail, integrity and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
