Junior Accountant (Accounts Payable)

Role Overview

Royal Horizon Group is looking for a junior accountant to help manage supplier payments and keep accounts payable records accurate and up to date. Based in Ajman, this role supports the finance team by handling invoice checks, supplier queries, payment preparation and month-end tasks, while helping maintain compliance with UAE VAT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Check supplier invoices for accuracy and confirm that supporting documents are included.
• Match invoices against purchase orders, delivery records and other relevant paperwork before recording them.
• Enter supplier invoices, payments and related transactions into the accounting system.
• Review supplier balances, reconcile account statements and follow up on differences.
• Prepare payment vouchers and assist with payment processing, including transfers and cheques.
• Check employee expense claims and maintain orderly files for invoices, credit and debit notes, and payments.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve billing issues and obtain outstanding approvals.
• Support month-end close, accounts payable reconciliations, accruals, VAT documentation and audit requests.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• One to two years of experience in accounts payable or a comparable accounting position; fresh graduates may also be considered.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and invoice-to-payment processes.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel and accounting software to record and review financial transactions.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT requirements is an advantage.
• Careful, numerate and organised, with the ability to manage deadlines and collaborate with colleagues.
