Minimum Requirements (Likely)
Applicants should:
-
Hold relevant academic qualifications (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Law, HR, Finance, ICT, Administration, or related fields).
-
Be registered with professional bodies where applicable (e.g., LSK for lawyers, ICPAK for accountants).
-
Have prior experience in legal aid, public administration, finance, HR, ICT, or supply chain management depending on the role.
-
Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
-
Be familiar with government service delivery frameworks, legal aid processes, and public sector accountability standards.
-
Show professionalism, integrity, and alignment with NLAS’s mission of providing affordable, accessible, and sustainable legal aid services to vulnerable and marginalized persons in Kenya.
Role‑specific expectations:
-
Director / CEO: Provide strategic leadership and oversee NLAS operations.
-
Deputy / Assistant Directors: Manage departmental functions in legal aid, HR, finance, ICT, planning, and communication.
-
Legal Aid Officers / Clerks: Deliver legal aid services, case management, and client support.
-
Finance / HR / Supply Chain roles: Ensure compliance, resource management, and operational efficiency.
-
Drivers: Support transport and logistics for NLAS operations.

NOTE: NLAS Grades 1, 2 & 3 are on a three-years contract basis, renewable once while the rest are on permanent and pensionable terms

- Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board or proof of ongoing repayments.
