Role Overview
This position exists to keep the organisation’s IT environment stable, secure, and responsive to daily operational needs. You will spend most of your time troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user access to cloud services, and maintaining the network infrastructure that staff rely on. Your work directly reduces downtime and ensures that sensitive data stays protected across all systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft Office 365 and Windows environments, including user account provisioning, licence allocation, and email security controls.
- Monitor and maintain local area networks, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and VPN connectivity to ensure consistent performance and availability.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets and resolve incidents related to desktops, laptops, printers, and business applications.
- Manage cloud services and virtual machines, applying regular patches and configuration updates as required.
- Implement and maintain security controls such as antivirus, firewalls, and endpoint protection across all connected devices.
- Conduct routine backups of databases and critical business data, performing restoration checks to confirm data integrity.
- Maintain an up-to-date ICT asset register, tracking hardware lifecycle, software licences, and warranty status.
- Provide training or guidance to staff on secure IT practices, password hygiene, and acceptable system usage.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified qualifications.
- Proven ability to manage networking hardware, cloud platforms, cybersecurity controls, and end-user support concurrently.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, TCP/IP networking, and information security principles.
- Practical experience with database administration, backup solutions, and ICT asset management processes.
- Analytical mindset with a systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving technical faults.
- Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Demonstrated integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
