Role Overview

This six-month, full-time internship places you inside the global partnerships team of SOS Children’s Villages International, where you will help drive a worldwide collaboration with DHL Group aimed at improving youth employability in 60 countries. Day to day, you will support the Global Partnership Key Account Manager with administrative coordination, event logistics, data handling, and communications — while also contributing to the broader Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship team’s programme design and expansion efforts. Your work will directly enable partners and country offices to plan, monitor, and report on initiatives that help young people build sustainable livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, day-to-day administrative support to the global partnership management function, adapting to evolving priorities and deadlines.
• Maintain and organise partnership-related documents, records, and correspondence on the organisation’s local database to ensure accurate and accessible information.
• Assist in planning and running workshops and meetings, handling logistics before and during events, including scheduling, materials, and participant coordination.
• Compile and structure data from multiple sources for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes, helping to track progress and outcomes.
• Develop clear, engaging communication materials for internal and external audiences, including presentations, articles, and reports.
• Communicate with partner country teams and stakeholders, supporting them with information, guidance, and follow-up as needed.
• Collaborate with the wider Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship team on programme design, evaluation, and expansion initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Current or completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous exposure to project management, budget management, or event management through studies, volunteering, internships, or work experience.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with practical hands-on experience considered a distinct advantage.
• Familiarity with partnership management, civic engagement, and preferably youth employability or entrepreneurship programmes.
• Ability to work sensitively and effectively in a multicultural environment, with a clear commitment to the organisation’s values.
• An open-minded, globally aware outlook and a proactive, self-motivated approach to work.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across different functions and locations.
• Solid command of MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• A valid work permit enabling full-time employment in Kenya is required.
