Role Overview
As a Forklift Operator, you will be the backbone of daily warehouse movement, ensuring that incoming and outgoing goods are transferred safely, accurately, and on schedule. Each shift begins with a thorough equipment check and ends with a clean, orderly workspace, directly supporting the warehouse team's ability to meet delivery deadlines without compromising safety or product integrity. Your attention to detail and careful handling of both machinery and cargo help prevent costly damage and keep operations running smoothly from the loading dock to the storage racks.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-shift inspections of the forklift, checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, and lifting mechanisms, and immediately report any mechanical issues to the workshop team.
- Transport goods between receiving areas, storage locations, and loading bays, following the day's priority list from the warehouse supervisor.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles while verifying that quantities and package conditions match the accompanying documentation.
- Stack pallets and products at designated rack positions, respecting weight limits and height guidelines to maximize storage capacity without creating hazards.
- Maintain clear aisles and tidy work zones by removing empty pallets, shrink wrap, and debris after each loading or unloading session.
- Apply occupational health and safety protocols at all times, including wearing required personal protective equipment and using safe driving techniques in pedestrian-heavy areas.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse supervisors and fellow operators to ensure that daily pick, pack, and dispatch targets are met without bottlenecks.
- Monitor cargo during transport to ensure straps and stabilizers are secure, reducing the risk of spills, shifts, or product damage.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Completion of O Level (Ordinary Level) education or an equivalent foundational qualification.
- A valid forklift operator license or relevant driving permit that authorizes you to operate industrial lifting equipment.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in forklift operations, warehouse logistics, or a directly related material-handling role.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, load sheets, and safety signage without constant supervision.
- Physical fitness and coordination to handle repeated lifting, sitting, and maneuvering in tight warehouse spaces.
- A strong safety mindset, including the habit of performing routine machine checks and reporting faults before they escalate.
- Basic communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and teammates in a fast-paced environment.
