Role Overview
This role places you at the centre of a busy manufacturing operation, where reliable digital systems directly affect production uptime and business continuity. You will lead the technology function across corporate offices and the plant floor, managing everything from network infrastructure and data centres to SCADA-linked industrial equipment, while guiding a team of support and surveillance specialists. By aligning IT strategy with manufacturing priorities, you will help the organisation reduce downtime, strengthen cyber resilience, and make sound technology investments that support growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure enterprise networks, including LAN/WAN connections, firewalls, routers, wireless links, and active directory services, ensuring stable connectivity across all business units.
- Oversee data centre operations, virtual servers, SQL database environments, and communication systems such as PABX and VoIP to support daily business functions.
- Manage the convergence of IT and operational technology by supervising SCADA systems, plant automation, and shop-floor IoT devices, working closely with production teams.
- Implement and enforce robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures to protect critical systems and minimise operational risk.
- Administrate core enterprise applications, including ERP, HRIS, CRM, MES, and supply chain platforms, ensuring database integration, hardware connectivity, and user access are reliable.
- Strengthen cyber security controls, intrusion prevention, access management, SOC monitoring, and CCTV surveillance, while conducting regular security assessments.
- Monitor vendor performance against service level agreements for internet links, hardware maintenance, and software licensing, and address any service gaps promptly.
- Lead the ICT support team, CCTV operators, and technical interns, providing mentorship, defining IT usage policies, and driving user training programmes across the organisation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of progressive IT leadership experience with enterprise-wide responsibility, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record of managing multi-system implementations, such as ERP, MES, CRM, e-commerce, and fleet management platforms.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT/OT convergence, cloud environments, network routing, and cyber security frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with SQL server installations, active directory management, system virtualisation, and data centre administration.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and board-level communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear business recommendations.
- Demonstrated competence in budget management, total cost of ownership analysis, and ROI evaluation for technology projects.
