Job Description

Role Overview

CPS runs a three-month graduate pathway that starts with sales and widens into presales and solution consulting as the trainee proves themselves. Trainees spend their time close to the customer-facing team — sitting in on calls and demos, keeping opportunity records current, drafting positioning notes and tender material, and working through structured Microsoft learning modules. The point of the programme is to grow people who can hold a credible business conversation about cloud, security, and business applications, and who are ready to step into a customer-facing role with real grounding behind them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build working familiarity with the CPS portfolio across Modern Work, Security, Azure, Data & AI, and Business Applications, and explain where each fits in a customer's environment.
  • Put foundational selling technique into practice — prospecting, discovery questioning, qualification, handling pushback, following up, and agreeing a clear next step.
  • Keep CRM and pipeline information accurate by logging activity, updating contact and opportunity records, and tracking the status of each sales action.
  • Observe and support live sales calls, client meetings, product demonstrations, and proposal build sessions.
  • Produce supporting material such as short positioning notes, discovery question sets, sales playbook entries, and responses to frequently raised objections.
  • Contribute to presales work including demo preparation, customer needs analysis, proposal drafting, and tender or RFP responses.
  • Complete the assigned Microsoft learning paths, sales-lane modules, and any certification or completion credentials attached to them.
  • Take part in mentor check-ins, weekly progress reviews, stage-gate assessments, and a closing capstone presentation on customer value.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or diploma holder in Business, Sales, Marketing, IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable discipline.
  • Genuine appetite for technology sales, cloud platforms, Microsoft products, and day-to-day customer interaction.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with the presence to present to a room and hold a conversation with a client.
  • Fast learner who can translate technical detail into plain business language.
  • Well organised and disciplined about record-keeping in CRM and activity trackers.
  • Confident enough to ask questions, engage customers, and respond to objections without becoming defensive.
  • Self-starting mindset, curiosity, and openness to coaching, certification study, and hands-on assignments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft solutions, cloud, cybersecurity, data, AI, or business applications is an advantage.

What We Offer / Why Join

  • A defined three-stage progression — Sales Trainee, then Presales Trainee, then Solution Trainee — with movement between stages tied to performance, learning progress, mentor feedback, and stage-gate assessment.
  • Structured exposure to company orientation, Microsoft fundamentals, consultative selling, CRM and pipeline management, customer discovery and qualification, demo support, proposal and tender response work, technical objection handling, solution positioning, and certification readiness.
  • Mentor check-ins and weekly reviews that give regular, specific feedback rather than a single end-of-programme verdict.
  • Support toward completing or booking at least one relevant Microsoft certification or approved learning credential.
  • A capstone project in which you present your own understanding of sales, solution positioning, and customer value.
  • A realistic route into a sales, presales, or solution support role, with completion assessed against defined expectations — including demonstrated understanding of at least one CPS solution area.
