Job Description

Role Overview

This 12-month internship places you at the heart of World Vision East Africa’s Regional Faith and Development team, where you will support the Senior Technical Advisor and the SPDQ Director in daily operations. Your time will be split between shaping staff spiritual formation, helping integrate faith-based approaches into programming, and providing administrative and logistical support for regional initiatives. As part of a structured talent incubation programme, you will gain real, on-the-job experience while receiving mentorship and coaching to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff spiritual formation activities, including developing and scheduling chapel programmes and supporting small group leaders to run effective formation sessions.
  • Prepare and curate spiritual formation resources, ensuring themes such as peace, protection, and opportunity are reflected to support the region’s Faith and Development goals.
  • Plan topics and focus areas for spiritual engagement, gathering feedback to assess how materials are used and their overall impact on staff.
  • Serve as the regional point person for prayer updates and help organise the East Africa Office Day of Prayer, while attending chapel committee meetings.
  • Support the rollout of Faith and Development training models, such as Empowered World View, by assisting with staff training logistics and coordination.
  • Provide administrative support to the Regional Faith and Development Senior Technical Advisor and SPDQ Director, including travel bookings, meeting logistics, and consolidation of team inputs for monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Develop bible study guides and devotional materials for small groups to use throughout the fiscal year.
  • Attend devotional meetings and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the advisors.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A committed Christian with spiritual maturity, able to articulate a personal faith in Christ and demonstrate how that faith informs both life and work, while respecting denominational diversity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology, Christian Education, Christian Ministry, or a related field, with graduation within the last two years.
  • Experience developing devotional materials, such as bible study guides or reflection resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, plus demonstrated writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets for reporting and data consolidation.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse, cross-cultural team.
  • Innovative mindset capable of thinking beyond conventional approaches to engage staff and partners.
  • Willingness to adhere to security standards and operate in line with organisational policies.
  • Preferred: familiarity with denominational perspectives and core beliefs of other faith traditions.
