Role Overview
This position sits at the centre of a footwear production floor, within the DIP department where shoe components are assembled, moulded and finished into complete pairs. As a machine operator or finish line operator, you will keep the line running — feeding equipment, handling materials and preparing finished shoes for the next stage of production. Your pace and attention to detail have a direct effect on daily output, product quality and whether orders reach customers on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and monitor the machinery assigned to you on the DIP line, sticking to set cycle times and reporting faults, jams or unusual readings to the Production Supervisor without delay.
- Feed uppers, soles and other components into the line, keeping your workstation stocked so production does not stall.
- Handle, sort, count and move raw materials and finished shoes between the line, storage and dispatch areas.
- Perform finish line work such as trimming excess material, cleaning, checking and preparing pairs for packing.
- Inspect your own work as you go and set aside defective or substandard pairs instead of passing them further down the line.
- Keep machines, tools and the factory floor clean, tidy and free of hazards, and follow all safety rules on site.
- Work to the shift plan and production targets, coordinating with colleagues so the line keeps moving with minimal stoppages.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Kenyan citizen with a valid national ID.
- Minimum education level of a KCSE certificate.
- Flexible and available to work in shifts as the production schedule requires.
- Physically fit, hard-working and able to remain on your feet for long hours in an active manufacturing environment.
- Valid statutory documents: NSSF, SHA and KRA PIN.
- A passport-size photograph to accompany your application.
- Quick, steady hands and the ability to keep pace with a production line.
- Disciplined, punctual and dependable when it comes to attendance and following instructions.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.
- Machine operation skills or experience in a shoe factory or similar manufacturing setting will be an added advantage.
Why Join
- Hands-on work in the DIP department of a fast-growing footwear brand, where production output depends directly on your contribution.
- A shift-based schedule suited to candidates who want consistent, structured factory work.
- A team environment with practical exposure to footwear machine operation and finishing processes.
