Financial Controller

Role Overview

As the strategic financial leader for the property, you will shape and execute financial strategies that support the brand’s service vision and maximize return on investment. Day to day, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations while advising executive leadership and owners on financial performance. Your work ensures the property meets its financial goals, maintains rigorous controls, and delivers exceptional value to guests, employees, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, analyzing market trends and comparing actual sales against projections to guide financial decisions.
• Identify and implement profit improvement initiatives by evaluating cost-benefit trade-offs and exploring new business opportunities.
• Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safeguarding property assets.
• Oversee all tax obligations, ensuring accurate accrual and timely collection, and verify that the P&L properly matches costs to revenue.
• Manage internal, external, and regulatory audits, reviewing findings and implementing corrections as needed.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, executive committee, and owners, translating complex financial data into clear, persuasive insights.
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team through cross-training, fair policy administration, and individualized development plans.
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders—owners, corporate leadership, and guests—by anticipating needs and involving ownership in key financial decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related major.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar finance leadership role.
• Required background in luxury hospitality or a comparable luxury environment.
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and hold teams accountable while advocating sound financial decision-making.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to break down complex data, forecast accurately, and monitor performance against budgets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial concepts clearly to executives and owners.
• Experience with audit processes, regulatory compliance, and P&L accuracy.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and creative problem-solving to develop and execute new business plans.
