Role Overview
You will be the face of Tuishi in the Coast Region, working directly with individuals, families, and community groups to explain the value of medical cover, last expense cover, and the Inkind Envelope product. Your daily work involves moving through neighbourhoods, markets, churches, health facilities, and workplaces — enrolling new members, handling their queries, and making sure existing members know how to access their benefits. This role matters because it turns a simple insurance product into a trusted community resource that people actually use when they need it most.
Key Responsibilities
- Register new members face-to-face during community visits, follow-ups, and outreach drives.
- Explain the full range of Tuishi covers — including medical, last expense, and Inkind Envelope — in clear, simple language that resonates with different audiences.
- Guide members through the claims process, assist with service activations, and resolve routine issues on the spot or escalate them appropriately.
- Identify and visit high-traffic community hubs such as villages, estates, open-air markets, hospitals, churches, and local workplaces to expand Tuishi's visibility.
- Build lasting relationships with community leaders and local influencers who can champion Tuishi services within their networks.
- Maintain accurate records of every interaction, enrollment, and follow-up using the tools provided, so the team can track growth and member needs.
- Report field feedback about member concerns, product gaps, and competitor activity to help improve service delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in field sales, community mobilization, or member recruitment — ideally within insurance, microfinance, health services, or a similar people-facing role.
- Strong verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili, with the ability to adapt your message to elders, youth, market vendors, and professionals alike.
- Self-motivated work style: you can plan your own route, manage your own time, and stay productive without constant supervision.
- Deep understanding of or genuine willingness to learn about community-based insurance, mutual health organizations, and last expense products.
- Currently resident in Kenya's Coast Region or willing to relocate there for this position.
- Genuine passion for serving people and a patient, respectful approach when dealing with members who may be unfamiliar with insurance concepts.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a diploma or certificate in community development, sales, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills are necessary for accurate registration and follow-up tracking.
