Role Overview
You will be the face of Tuishi in the community, enrolling new members and helping them understand the value of medical cover, last expense cover, and the in-kind envelope benefit. Working independently across the Coast Region, you will turn everyday conversations into lasting memberships while giving practical support to families when they need to make a claim or activate a service. Your daily efforts directly expand the organisation’s reach and ensure that more households can access dignified and timely support in moments of illness, death, or emergency.
Key Responsibilities
- Register new members by explaining membership packages, collecting required details, and guiding applicants through the enrolment process.
- Educate community groups, churches, market vendors, hospital visitors, and workplace teams on how Medical Cover, Last Expense Cover, and the In-kind Envelope work and who stands to benefit.
- Help existing members with claims submissions, service activations, and follow-ups, ensuring they feel supported from first request to resolution.
- Identify and create new points of presence for Tuishi in villages, estates, markets, hospitals, churches, and workplaces through structured visits and relationship building.
- Maintain accurate records of daily registrations, community visits, and member follow-ups using provided tools and formats.
- Provide clear, respectful explanations of coverage terms, exclusions, and processes to members with varying levels of familiarity with insurance and mutual aid schemes.
- Report community feedback, service gaps, and common member concerns to the coordination team to improve the overall member experience.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, community outreach, client service, or a similar field-facing role — preferably within health cover, microinsurance, sacco, or welfare-based organisations.
- Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to listen actively, speak clearly in local languages and English/Kiswahili, and build trust across diverse groups.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong personal organisation and reliable time management.
- Resident of the Coast Region or willing to relocate to serve communities in that area.
- A genuine passion for serving the community and a commitment to helping families access essential cover solutions.
- Ability to move between field locations independently and maintain a professional approach even in informal or remote settings.
- Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills for accurately managing member registrations and daily reports.
- A valid national ID and, ideally, a mobile smartphone ready for fieldwork.
What We Offer / Why Join
This role gives you the chance to do meaningful, community-focused work that directly improves local access to financial and health protection. You will not be stuck behind a desk — every day brings fresh interactions with real people and the satisfaction of helping a family secure a safety net. You will be part of a growing movement to extend Tuishi’s presence across the Coast Region, while developing practical skills in grassroots marketing, member education, and social impact delivery.
