Role Overview
This is a community-facing role focused on expanding membership for Tuishi, a social initiative providing accessible health coverage and last-expense benefits in the Coast Region of Kenya. You will spend most of your time moving through communities—villages, markets, hospitals, workplaces, and churches—building trust and ensuring local people understand, enrol in, and actively use their Tuishi cover. Your day-to-day work connects directly to the organization's goal of making financial protection simple and available to everyday families.
Key Responsibilities
- Enrol new members by explaining Tuishi products clearly, guiding applicants through registration, and completing all associated paperwork accurately.
- Educate community groups on the value and mechanics of Medical Cover, Last Expense Cover, and the In-kind Envelope, tailoring your message to each audience.
- Support active members with claim submissions and service activations, helping them navigate processes step-by-step when issues arise.
- Identify and visit key community hubs—including estates, rural villages, markets, hospitals, churches, and local workplaces—to spread awareness of Tuishi.
- Follow up with prospective members and maintain consistent communication with existing ones to ensure satisfaction and continued engagement.
- Provide on-the-ground feedback on member concerns and common questions so the organization can improve its products and outreach strategies.
- Represent Tuishi publicly at community events and gatherings, acting as a familiar and approachable point of contact for residents.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you should be comfortable addressing groups, holding one-on-one conversations, and explaining complex information in simple terms.
- Self-motivation and proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, managing your own schedule and hitting targets without daily oversight.
- Residency in the Coast Region or genuine willingness to relocate there, since this role requires deep familiarity with local communities and contexts.
- Passion for community service and a genuine interest in improving access to healthcare and social protection for underserved families.
- Ability to move frequently between locations and interact with people from diverse backgrounds in a warm, respectful, and professional manner.
