Role Overview

This is a field-facing community engagement role with Tuishi, focused on bringing new members into its funeral, medical, and in-kind support programmes. You will spend your days moving through the local community—visiting homes, markets, places of worship, and other gathering spots—to explain how these covers work, help members activate services, and ensure claims are handled smoothly.

Your work directly drives the growth of Tuishi's presence across the Coast Region. Success depends on being a trusted, approachable presence who can clearly explain complex cover options and guide people through the enrolment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Register new members by walking them through enrolment paperwork, collecting required details, and issuing membership documentation.
• Educate individuals and small groups about Medical Cover, Last Expense Cover, and the Inkind Envelope, tailoring your explanation to each person's needs and ability to pay.
• Provide hands-on assistance when members file claims or need help activating their cover, following up to ensure issues are resolved.
• Visit villages, estates, markets, hospitals, churches, and workplaces to introduce Tuishi's offerings and answer questions face to face.
• Identify new high-traffic locations and community groups where membership awareness can be grown.
• Follow up with prospective members who have shown interest but have not yet committed, addressing any concerns that are holding them back.
• Maintain simple records of member registrations, follow-ups, and outreach activities for monthly reporting.
• Report common member concerns or coverage gaps to the team so service delivery can be improved.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven ability to speak confidently to diverse groups, explain ideas clearly, and persuade people to act.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build trust quickly with community members.
• A self-starter mindset—comfortable planning your own route, setting your own daily targets, and working without direct oversight.
• Genuine passion for community service and helping people access financial protection and support.
• Must be a resident of the Coast Region or willing to relocate there for this role.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to complete registration forms and maintain outreach records accurately.
• Prior experience in community outreach, microinsurance, chamas, SACCOs, or a similar member-facing role is an added advantage.
