Role Overview
You will act as the primary technical bridge between Google for Education and some of the largest universities and school systems, ensuring that institutions can confidently adopt and integrate tools like Gemini into their daily operations. Day to day, you will meet with IT leaders and educators to understand their infrastructure and academic goals, then design architectures, run demonstrations, and guide proof-of-concept projects that prove the value of Google solutions. Your work directly shapes how educational institutions modernise their teaching and administrative environments, and your feedback helps product teams refine the roadmap for the next generation of AI-powered learning tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with customer stakeholders to understand current technical environments, academic workflows, and institutional priorities, then design tailored solutions that embed Gemini into their existing systems.
- Lead technical presentations and live demonstrations that showcase the practical impact of Gemini for teaching, research, and campus operations.
- Serve as the escalation point for technical questions and objections during the sales lifecycle, ensuring prospects and customers receive accurate, credible answers.
- Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and sales teams to consolidate customer feedback and influence the development of future education features and capabilities.
- Prepare bid responses, technical briefs, partner enablement materials, and other documentation required to support complex procurement cycles.
- Coordinate proof-of-concept engagements and manage the allocation of supporting technical resources to keep projects moving on schedule.
- Represent Gemini at external workshops, conferences, and customer-facing events to drive awareness and adoption across the education sector.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience; an advanced degree is a plus.
- At least eight years of professional experience in technical sales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, education technology, or a directly related role.
- Proven familiarity with SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, and modern web technologies.
- Hands-on experience deploying the Google for Education toolset within institutional environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical architecture for universities, school districts, or similarly complex organisations.
- Preferred: five or more years specifically in sales engineering or technical consultancy.
- Preferred: experience applying AI/ML technologies, particularly in educational settings.
- Preferred: a track record of supporting technology adoption and change-management initiatives across large user groups.
- Preferred: deep working knowledge of higher education and K-12 IT infrastructure, including identity management and single sign-on (SSO) systems.
- Preferred: extensive expertise with the full Google for Education ecosystem and its integration patterns.
