Role Overview
As the technical authority for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Commerce, you will shape how client solutions are designed, built and maintained across Microsoft cloud services. You will guide teams toward the right balance of configuration and custom development, keeping integrations reliable and solutions ready for platform updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Define technical architecture for client programmes, including environments, application lifecycle management, security, integrations and extension strategy.
- Produce and explain solution designs covering data structures, system interfaces, SSRS and Electronic Reporting, and deployment and cutover planning.
- Establish standards for X++ development, custom packages and extensions that support maintainability and future update cycles.
- Design integration approaches linking Finance & Operations and Commerce with Dataverse, Azure services and other business applications.
- Assess architecture proposals and code changes, advise developers, and resolve technical issues as delivery progresses.
- Remain involved through user acceptance testing, production cutover and post-launch hypercare.
- Coordinate with functional consultants and project managers to align scope, estimates and technical design.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience as a technical architect or lead developer on a Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX implementation that went live.
- Strong X++ knowledge and sound judgement in applying the extension model, including knowing when configuration is preferable to customization.
- Ability to map and explain solution landscapes, including environments, identity, integrations and data flows, and to communicate the trade-offs involved.
- Experience designing or reviewing integrations, SSRS reports and Electronic Reporting for production environments.
- MB-700 certification or an equivalent architecture credential is desirable.
- Experience with Commerce, dual-write, Azure integration patterns, DevOps or Finance & Operations environment strategy is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within Europe is beneficial.
