Role Overview

This position is central to our logistics and distribution chain, ensuring that goods and personnel reach their destinations on time and without incident. Day to day, you will plan safe routes, operate company vehicles with care, and complete accurate delivery documentation—all while upholding strict road safety standards. Your reliability directly supports our operational efficiency and the trust our clients place in us.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to transport cargo and employees in line with daily schedules and delivery priorities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm vehicle roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues immediately.
• Manage the secure loading and unloading of goods, ensuring weight distribution and cargo integrity throughout each journey.
• Maintain a detailed logbook of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Follow all traffic regulations, company transport policies, and defensive driving principles to minimise risk and accidents.
• Coordinate routine servicing and cleaning of assigned vehicles to preserve performance and professional appearance.
• Verify delivery documentation (waybills, invoices, signatures) at pick-up and drop-off points to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Respond calmly to transport emergencies, such as breakdowns or route disruptions, and take appropriate action to protect goods and people.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle class used in this role.
• Valid defensive driving certificate from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of professional driving experience, including commercial or logistics driving.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accident history.
• Hands-on ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance (tyre changes, fluid checks, minor repairs).
• Practical knowledge of route planning and navigation, especially within local and regional zones.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail in record-keeping and security of cargo.
• Certificate of good conduct (valid within the last six months).
