Job Description

Role Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of data captured throughout the sorting and baling process at a recycling facility. On a daily basis, you will perform data entry, monitor product quality for deviations, and generate variance reports that inform operational adjustments. Your attention to detail ensures that management has reliable information to track material flows, identify inefficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter data into designated databases or information systems accurately and within each shift’s timeframe.
  • Inspect sorted product for quality deviations and promptly notify the team leader of any issues.
  • Complete daily scale checklists and coordinate with the team leader and maintenance team to resolve repairs within set timelines.
  • Produce a weekly variance report comparing the volume of recyclables sorted against the volume actually baled.
  • Pull specific data from database systems upon request, validate it, and follow up on any inconsistencies to improve recording accuracy.
  • Support team leaders with quality control activities at sorting lines and conveyors.
  • Prepare and present weekly key results and variance reports to management, including trend analyses and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Implement automated data checks and validations using spreadsheets or basic tools to reduce manual errors and increase reliability.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Actuarial Science, Information and Data Management, or Accounting.
  • One to two years of professional experience in data management and working with information systems.
  • Proficiency with data management software and tools, including Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and data quality issues.
