Customs Clearance Executive – JAFZA

Role Overview

The Customs Clearance Executive manages import and export shipments through UAE customs processes, with particular attention to JAFZA, mainland, free zone and bonded cargo. The role keeps documentation accurate, clearance activity moving and shipments aligned with applicable regulations by coordinating with customs platforms, carriers, ports and government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customs clearance for UAE imports and exports across JAFZA, mainland, free zone and bonded shipments.
• Prepare and check declarations and supporting shipment documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate clearance requirements and shipment updates with Dubai Customs, Dubai Trade, shipping lines, ports and relevant authorities.
• Monitor shipment progress, follow up on pending clearances and address operational delays or documentation issues.
• Apply UAE customs procedures and internal processes throughout each shipment’s clearance cycle.
• Maintain organised records of customs documents and shipment details.
• Manage several shipment activities at once, prioritising follow-ups to support timely clearance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience handling UAE import and export customs clearance.
• Working knowledge of Dubai Trade, Dubai Customs systems, customs declarations and supporting documentation.
• Familiarity with JAFZA, mainland, free zone and bonded shipment procedures.
• Understanding of UAE customs regulations and clearance requirements.
• Experience coordinating with shipping lines, ports and government authorities.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments efficiently.
