Role Overview

This field-based position drives the day-to-day implementation of a Global Fund tuberculosis initiative at the sub-county level, acting as the primary link between health facilities, community volunteers, and project leadership. You will coordinate awareness campaigns, oversee community-led monitoring activities, and ensure that TB services reach underserved populations through trusted local networks. Your work directly influences case detection, treatment adherence, and the overall success of community health efforts in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all sub-county project activities under the Global Fund TB grant, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and the approved work plan.
• Lead community sensitization and mobilization efforts to increase demand for TB screening, prevention, and treatment services among local populations.
• Supervise and support peer monitors, TB champions, superusers, and support groups delivering community-led monitoring and follow-up interventions.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions, review meetings, and sensitizations on digital tools such as the TIBU app and iMonitor, including managing venue logistics and participant mobilization.
• Oversee data collection at both facility and community levels by validating contact tracing forms, treatment interrupter reports, x-ray vouchers, peer monitor summaries, and support group records on a monthly basis.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify data quality, identify service delivery gaps, and work with facility teams to resolve challenges affecting TB care continuity.
• Compile timely activity reports and success stories for submission to the project officer, contributing to monthly, quarterly, and annual donor reporting requirements.
• Maintain an organized repository of community-level documents, photos, videos, and other deliverables that capture project achievements and lessons learned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Public Health, Nursing Sciences, or Clinical Medicine; a related bachelor’s degree is a distinct advantage.
• At least two years of experience in health programming, preferably with Global Fund–funded TB projects or similar donor-supported community health initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and competing stakeholder expectations while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills, with a track record of building trust among community groups, facility staff, and local government officials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for reporting and data management tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document stories of impact and compile clear activity reports.
• Experience engaging local partners, community-based organizations, and volunteer networks in health service delivery.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the sub-county and work flexible hours to accommodate community meetings and outreach events.
