Role Overview
This position sits at the commercial heart of a growing beekeeping and honey production operation, where you will translate the company’s harvest into sustainable revenue. Day to day, you will shape sales strategy, open new distribution channels, and manage relationships with buyers ranging from local retailers to institutional processors. Your efforts directly determine how effectively the business grows its market presence, protects margins, and builds a dependable customer base across honey and related bee products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a commercial roadmap that expands both domestic and export sales while improving overall market share for honey and other hive-derived products.
- Identify and qualify promising new market segments, including bulk processors, specialty food retailers, wholesalers, and food service buyers, then convert those into active accounts.
- Steward existing key accounts by negotiating contract terms, resolving supply issues, and uncovering cross-selling opportunities for additional bee products.
- Conduct regular analysis of pricing movements, competitor offerings, consumer preferences, and category trends to inform smarter commercial decisions.
- Set realistic revenue targets and sales forecasts, then track performance against them to spot gaps and adjust tactics quickly.
- Work closely with production and beekeeping teams to synchronise supply availability, seasonal harvest volumes, and packaging lead times with the demands of customers.
- Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring agreements align with profitability goals while preserving long-term partner trust.
- Collaborate on branding, packaging, and product positioning so that the company’s honey stands out in both commodity and value-added categories.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Food Science, Economics, or another closely related discipline.
- At least seven years of commercial, sales, business development, or agribusiness experience, with a proven ability to grow revenue and win new customers.
- Familiarity with beekeeping, honey production, agricultural commodities, food processing, or FMCG environments is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing distributors, wholesalers, retailers, processors, or large institutional clients.
- Sharp commercial instincts, including the ability to build forecasts, manage budgets, and evaluate the financial impact of pricing or channel decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders on both the buy and sell side.
- Comfort operating in a field-based role with regular travel to customer sites, farms, warehouses, and trade events.
- A track record of leading or mentoring sales professionals and coordinating cross-functional teams toward shared commercial targets.
