SALARY
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes in line with established menus and recipes.
- Support daily kitchen operations during staff absences or peak demand periods.
- Ensure consistent quality in both Chinese cuisine and Kenyan/local dishes.
- Assist in food preparation, portioning, and plating as required.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in compliance with HACCP and company policies. • Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies and ingredients.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
- Minimize food wastage and support cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals during service periods.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Demonstrated experience in both Chinese cuisine and Kenyan/local cuisine is mandatory.
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of discipline, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
