Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits at the centre of a multi-branch security operation, where you will keep a constant eye on live surveillance footage and act as the first line of defence against threats. Your attention in the monitoring room protects people, property, and company reputation by catching suspicious behaviour early and making sure every incident is documented with clarity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Watch live CCTV feeds from all branches, dividing your attention across several monitors without losing focus.
  • Rotate camera views and adjust pan, tilt, and zoom functions to track individuals and close gaps in the coverage area.
  • Identify signs of unauthorised entry, theft, vandalism, or unsafe activity and immediately notify the appropriate response personnel.
  • Operate DVR and recorder playback tools to review past footage, capture relevant clips, and preserve evidence for investigations.
  • Maintain a detailed monitoring log that records camera checks, alarms, incidents, and any unusual observation with precise time stamps.
  • Write clear, factual incident reports so that management, security teams, or law enforcement can understand what happened at a glance.
  • Perform regular camera health checks, flagging dead pixels, recording failures, or signal loss so repairs can be arranged without delay.
  • Support on-site security officers during live events by relaying updated information and guiding their response in real time.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, CCTV Surveillance, ICT, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in CCTV monitoring, control room operations, or an equivalent security surveillance role.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV hardware, DVR systems, surveillance software, and basic recording safeguards.
  • Keen visual observation skills with the ability to maintain concentration on screens for prolonged periods.
  • Strong written communication and accurate note-taking habits when documenting observations.
  • Good verbal English to coordinate with branch staff and external responders during an incident.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including using surveillance applications and office tools to compile reports.
  • A calm and composed approach under pressure, with the ability to follow emergency procedures decisively.
