Carbon Finance Intern

Role Overview

BURN is hiring a Carbon Finance Intern to support its Carbon Finance team with the financial records, payment tracking, and documentation that keep carbon-related operations running smoothly. You will work across invoice checks, payment follow-ups, SharePoint filing, and audit preparation, helping ensure the team has accurate information when it matters. This internship is designed for someone eager to apply finance knowledge in a hands-on role while learning directly from experienced finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Save, arrange, and maintain financial documents and records in SharePoint so they are ready for internal and external reporting.
• Monitor payment progress and work with other departments to follow up on amounts that remain outstanding.
• Check purchase invoices and receipts, identify mismatches, and help resolve discrepancies.
• Provide administrative support for finance workflows, including assisting with Purchase Requisition Form (PRF) approvals.
• Prepare and organize supporting documents when the team needs to respond to financial and tax audits.
• Support routine Carbon Finance and general finance operations as part of the wider team.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by the line manager or senior management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum CPA Section 4 qualification.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Organized and detail-focused, with confidence handling files, records, and financial documentation.
• Results-oriented, able to prioritize tasks and manage several assignments in a fast-paced workplace.
• Good communication skills and a strong willingness to learn.
• Able to work independently and follow instructions accurately and consistently.
