Job Description

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is a constitutional body mandated to register, regulate, and administer the Political Parties Fund. Under Section 34 of the Political Parties Act, the ORPP is responsible for enforcing the legal framework governing political parties as set out in Articles 91 and 92 of the Constitution. We are seeking highly motivated and professional individuals to join our team as Call Centre Monitors.

As a Call Centre Monitor, you will serve as the front line of communication between the ORPP and the public, providing accurate and timely information regarding political parties, rallies, and elections. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to democratic governance in Kenya while developing your skills in public service and customer care.

This position is based in Nairobi, and successful candidates must be willing to work anywhere within Kenya as required. The role demands professionalism, composure under pressure, and a strong commitment to public service excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in ICT, Communication, Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Certificate in computer applications
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Competence in report writing
  • Willingness to work anywhere within Kenya
  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
  • Ability to retain knowledge and provide accurate responses to frequently asked questions
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with electors and members of the public with diverse personalities, maintaining a positive demeanor, including when dealing with difficult or agitated callers
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls and respond to enquiries from members of the public relating to political parties, rallies, and elections
  • Liaise with relevant ORPP departments and staff to obtain accurate and relevant information required by callers
  • Identify and escalate calls and enquiries from political parties and the public that require immediate attention
  • Identify common issues and frequently asked questions to inform areas where ORPP may need to strengthen its policies, procedures, public education mechanisms, and/or legal framework
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all calls and conversations in the Call Centre database
