Role Overview
This position centres on keeping an industrial production environment running through dependable automation and process control systems. You will spend your time programming, maintaining, and securing PLC-based equipment, while working closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimise downtime and sustain production quality. Your work directly supports plant efficiency and safety compliance across the entire manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and deploy automation and process control solutions tailored to the plant's evolving production needs.
- Develop, update, and troubleshoot PLC programs and control system software to optimise machine performance and throughput.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, including fault diagnosis, component replacement, and system restoration.
- Work with maintenance planners to manage spare parts inventories, asset lifecycles, and system upgrade schedules.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures for the Process Control Domain, including patch management, secure backups, and incident response.
- Keep accurate asset inventories and security documentation, ensuring all control systems meet internal and regulatory compliance standards.
- Conduct risk and safety assessments of automated systems, applying mitigation actions and maintaining safety-related maintenance routines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause analyses of production disruptions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Controls & Automation, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Strong competency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and making safe modifications to existing control logic.
- Solid working knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or similar).
- Experience in FMCG production is considered a valuable advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, document work clearly, and collaborate effectively across maintenance and engineering teams.
