Role Overview
This position focuses on transforming stroke care delivery across Kenya by working at the intersection of clinical practice, hospital operations, and emergency medical response. You will partner directly with hospitals and EMS teams to embed modern diagnostic and treatment standards, turning complex clinical guidance into practical routines that save lives. The role is heavily field-based, combining training, stakeholder coaching, and system-level problem-solving to expand the reach of the stroke program into new institutions and improve outcomes at existing partner sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive measurable efficiency gains in stroke patient management by streamlining workflows and reducing delays across the care continuum.
- Provide structured training and practical organizational tools to hospital staff, emergency medical services, and healthcare professionals.
- Position yourself as a trusted therapeutic consultant who promotes updated diagnostic and treatment guidelines within hospital environments.
- Deploy quality monitoring programs that allow hospitals and EMS teams to track their performance against established stroke care standards.
- Expand the program by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new hospitals into the stroke care initiative.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary stroke team meetings and guide continuous improvement cycles across participating institutions.
- Collaborate with leadership at major hospitals to analyze existing therapeutic protocols and implement evidence-based refinements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong scientific background, ideally a PhD in Neuroscience or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders, including senior clinicians, hospital administrators, and EMS personnel.
- Full professional fluency in English, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A flexible, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities in dynamic situations.
- High level of accountability and ownership, with the capacity to work independently.
- Resilience and composure when operating in fast-paced clinical and operational environments.
- Prior experience within healthcare systems, including direct collaboration with healthcare organizations or healthcare professionals.
- Active drive to identify process improvements and enhance patient outcomes at every opportunity.
- A valid Kenyan driving licence and proven ability to drive confidently across varied conditions.
- Availability to travel up to 70% of the working time, often to different regions of Kenya.
- Legal eligibility to work full time in Kenya.
