Role Overview

Working under the Dealer, you will help coordinate the dealing desk’s daily activity, from preparing market information and tracking cash to supporting the execution and settlement of investment trades. Your work will help the investment team pursue competitive pricing while keeping transactions aligned with internal limits, regulatory requirements and investment policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the monthly schedule of primary bond bids based on instructions from Portfolio Managers.
  • Update weekly bank deposit rate information following discussions with banks, and keep the daily liquidity sheet current.
  • Check bond and equity prices received from counterparties before confirming trade execution.
  • Track investment decisions through execution with selected market counterparties and help resolve follow-up issues.
  • Prepare weekly trading reports for review by the Dealer or Senior Dealer before distribution.
  • Support monitoring of key risk indicators against internal limits and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and circulate relevant market intelligence to inform investment decisions and contribute to investment hurdles, committee meetings and other related discussions.
  • Assist with cash-flow planning for settlement, excess-cash management, trade negotiations within approved limits, stakeholder relationships and ad hoc assignments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • CIFA certification, or active progress toward the qualification.
  • One to three years of experience in investment banking, dealing or asset management.
  • Working knowledge of at least two asset classes, such as equities and fixed income.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and data-visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to coordinate professionally with banks, brokers, custodians, administrators and other market participants.
