Role Overview
This position centers on keeping factory and drilling-related electromechanical equipment operating reliably through hands-on maintenance, repair, and compliance-focused quality checks. You will work on the shop floor, turning technical documentation into precise actions that minimise downtime and support production targets. Beyond keeping machines running, your insight will help shape troubleshooting approaches and give cross-functional teams the practical guidance they need to meet engineering and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret complex technical documents including blueprints, wiring schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists to execute maintenance tasks with accuracy.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on electromechanical drilling equipment and factory machinery, ensuring all work follows formal procedures and safety protocols.
- Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems, then implement effective repairs to restore equipment to operational condition on time.
- Support quality assurance activities by verifying that repairs and maintenance outputs meet manufacturing specifications, engineering requirements, and ISO compliance standards.
- Document maintenance actions, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures to maintain a clear record for audits and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams, engineers, and customers to provide practical troubleshooting knowledge and technical guidance during equipment issues.
- Use precision measuring tools and general hand tools skillfully to assemble, align, calibrate, and inspect components as needed.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend proactive solutions that reduce unplanned breakdowns and improve overall reliability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold a diploma or relevant technical degree in electromechanical, electrical, or mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Bring 3–4 years of maintenance experience specifically within an electro-mechanical drilling function or a closely related heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrate advanced mechanical aptitude and competence with both general hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Show a proven ability to identify equipment faults through systematic reasoning and develop practical, workable solutions under typical production pressure.
- Exhibit strong reading comprehension for technical documentation and the discipline to follow formal maintenance and quality procedures consistently.
- Possess prior experience with Baker Hughes equipment or similar downhole drilling technology, which is considered a distinct advantage.
- Communicate clearly and work cooperatively within a cross-functional team, while also being capable of troubleshooting independently when required.
