Job Description

Role Overview

This role sits at the heart of the finance function within a pharmaceutical environment, managing the full cycle of transactions from payments and receipts through to reconciliations and reporting. Day-to-day, you will ensure that every financial entry is accurate, supplier and customer accounts are kept current, and internal teams receive the data they need to make informed decisions. Your work directly supports the company’s financial integrity and operational efficiency, enabling seamless alignment between procurement, sales, and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming and outgoing payments, reconcile bank and ledger accounts, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage customer invoicing cycles, follow up on outstanding receivables, and maintain supplier account balances.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for financial reports, including month-end close activities and variance analyses.
  • Maintain precise accounting records for inventory, including stock-related entries and cost allocations.
  • Assist with budget preparation, cost monitoring, and compliance tasks to meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure financial processes align with operational workflows.
  • Support credit control efforts by reviewing account histories and recommending appropriate actions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Fluency in Gujarati, Hindi, Swahili, and English – both written and spoken – is essential for cross-functional communication.
  • CPA qualification (or active pursuit of certification) is strongly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, specifically within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms – Odoo familiarity is a distinct advantage.
  • Highly organised with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
