Accountant – Bank Reconciliation & Audit Support

Role Overview

Shumukh Group is seeking an Accountant to maintain reliable financial records, with particular focus on reconciling bank activity and preparing documentation for audits. Based in Al Ain, the role also contributes to routine ledger maintenance, reporting, month-end work and VAT records, helping the finance team keep its accounts accurate and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank statements against accounting records, investigate differences and retain clear supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger entries and assist with month-end close activities.
• Compile accounting schedules, financial reports and related supporting materials.
• File and organise invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, bank statements and other audit evidence.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests by supplying records and explaining relevant transactions.
• Keep accounting documentation in line with applicable accounting standards and bookkeeping practices.
• Prepare and maintain VAT documentation, and assist with other finance tasks as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Previous hands-on experience in bank reconciliation and audit support is required.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger processes.
• Working knowledge of VAT documentation and financial reporting.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accurate records.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Filipino candidates are preferred.
