Accountant

Role Overview

This role centres on orchestrating the day-to-day movement of freight through Fast Logistics’ Sharjah operations. You will coordinate shipments, liaise with carriers and customers, and ensure documentation and schedules align with company service standards. Your accuracy and responsiveness directly keep supply chains fluid and client commitments met.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound shipment bookings, tracking each consignment from pick-up to delivery.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents – including bills of lading, air waybills, and customs declarations – for compliance and accuracy.
• Communicate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and trucking partners to resolve delays or exceptions swiftly.
• Update internal systems with real-time shipment status, ensuring all stakeholders have visibility.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to align loading/unloading schedules with transport availability.
• Respond to customer inquiries about transit times, rates, and shipment progress within agreed service levels.
• Audit invoices from carriers against agreed rates and service performance before processing payment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or a similar supply-chain role.
• Hands-on familiarity with maritime, air, and road freight documentation (e.g., CEVA, DHL, or local customs procedures).
• Proficiency in logistics management software or ERP modules (e.g., CargoWise, SAP, or equivalent).
• Strong command of English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus for local stakeholder liaison.
• Ability to multitask under time pressure and maintain meticulous attention to detail across multiple shipments.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Valid UAE driving licence (preferred but not mandatory for office-based coordination).
