Role Overview

This Senior Accountant position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and timeliness of financial records for a Sharjah-based industrial firm. Day to day, you will post and review journal entries, manage monthly closing procedures, and oversee cash and banking operations—including trade finance instruments such as letters of credit and invoice discounting. By ensuring accurate reconciliations, strict payment controls, and robust cash flow monitoring, this role directly supports the company’s financial stability and strategic liquidity planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, ensuring every transaction is supported by proper documentation.
• Lead the monthly close process, recording all accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments accurately and on schedule.
• Verify supplier payment requests against approved procedures and confirm that all required approvals are in place before processing.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve differences with internal and external parties.
• Monitor daily bank balances across multiple accounts, arrange fund transfers between entities, and prepare both daily and monthly cash flow statements.
• Manage banking facilities such as trust receipts, letters of credit, invoice discounting, and performance bonds; prepare the necessary documentation and track limits, utilisation, maturity dates, interest, margins, and repayments.
• Review bank charges, interest calculations, and repayments for construction, machinery, and vehicle loans to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with accounts teams on intercompany settlements, fund requirements, and reconciliation of intercompany balances.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (mandatory).
• CA Internship, CMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification highly preferred.
• 8 to 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, all within the UAE.
• This role is open to female candidates only (per employer preference).
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, Tally, or Zoho Books.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
