Job Summary

Buy Simu Technologies is a fast‑growing mobile phone financing company committed to making smartphones and financial solutions accessible across Kenya. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, analytical, and highly organized Accountant to support financial operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support management decision‑making.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

• Reconcile bank accounts and the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Record and classify financial transactions including payroll, payables, and receivables.

• Prepare budgets and monitor financial performance against set targets.

• Conduct variance analysis and support financial forecasting.

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure business liquidity.

• Support cost control initiatives and improve financial efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.

• Prepare and file tax returns in line with applicable laws.

• Assist in internal and external audits and liaise with auditors.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to minimize financial risk.

• Support inventory management and related financial processes where applicable.

• Collaborate with other departments on financial planning, reporting, and operational issues.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA qualification is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organization.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
