Role Overview
This role places you at the core of the finance function for an internationally focused organization, where your daily work will keep the general ledger accurate, supplier and customer transactions flowing, and management reporting timely. You will spend your time on hands-on accounting tasks—reconciling accounts, processing payables and receivables, and supporting closings—rather than just reviewing them. Your precision and understanding of GAAP will directly shape how reliably the company tracks cash, reports financial results, and makes informed decisions across its operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full general ledger process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end adjustments to ensure balances are complete and accurate.
- Process and manage Accounts Payable transactions, from invoice verification and coding to payment scheduling and vendor statement reconciliation.
- Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, customer payment application, collections follow-up, and aging analysis.
- Perform bank reconciliations on all accounts and investigate any discrepancies between internal records and bank statements.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries, with variance commentary for management.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles by meeting deadlines, preparing schedules, and documenting accounting decisions.
- Monitor cash flow positions, forecast upcoming cash needs, and flag any risks or unusual patterns in liquidity.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records while ensuring all entries and processes comply with GAAP and internal policies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a directly related field is required.
- At least two years of hands-on accounting experience, with demonstrated responsibility for full-cycle GL work.
- Strong general ledger expertise, including experience with month-end close, adjusting entries, and account reconciliations.
- Proven working knowledge of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, from transaction initiation through resolution.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks is mandatory, including the ability to generate reports, troubleshoot entries, and maintain clean ledgers.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and how they apply to revenue recognition, accruals, and expense classification.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, specifically using formulas (VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIFS), pivot tables, and data analysis for accounting tasks.
- Advanced English proficiency (C1 level or higher) is required, both written and spoken, as you will communicate with international colleagues and stakeholders.
