Role Overview
This part-time teaching role focuses on planning and delivering the Cambridge International Curriculum to A Level students, with a weekly teaching commitment of three hours. Guided by the subject Head of Department, the School Principal, and school administration, the teacher helps students progress academically while supporting the school’s Catholic ethos and mission. The position is central to preparing candidates for Cambridge AS and A Level examinations and to advancing the school’s vision for student formation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Cambridge International Curriculum lessons for A Level learners, adapting instruction to each student’s educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential.
- Prepare candidates for Cambridge AS and A Level examinations through targeted teaching, assessment practice, and feedback.
- Build an organised, focused classroom that is developmentally appropriate and relevant to students’ interests.
- Infuse lessons with enthusiasm and a genuine passion for learning so students engage actively with academic excellence.
- Take accountability for students’ mastery of subject content and academic standards.
- Support the school’s vision and educational philosophy, and demonstrate the positive values, attitudes, and behaviours expected of all staff.
- Follow school policies and the framework that defines teachers’ responsibilities.
- Maintain positive, constructive, professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A practising Catholic who embraces the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- A degree in Education.
- At least five years of teaching experience at A Level.
- Flexibility and openness to change, with the ability to handle uncertainty and complexity well.
- Availability for three hours of teaching per week.
