Job Description

Position: Pediatric Cardiology Registrar

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Cardiology Registrar to join our medical team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Consultant Pediatric Cardiologists, providing comprehensive care to pediatric cardiology patients while contributing to teaching, research, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing pediatric cardiology patients and providing written instructions, ensuring all orders are carried out under the supervision of Consultant Pediatric Cardiologists.
  • Undertaking on-call duties including clerking, investigating, and managing patients.
  • Conducting ward rounds, clinics, and theatre days as scheduled or directed.
  • Conducting medical research as needed.
  • Training, supervising, and mentoring Medical Officer Interns and Medical Officers.
  • Undertaking medical examinations and preparing Medical Reports.
  • Participating in continuous professional development activities.
  • Referring patients to other medical specialists for further diagnosis of complex or unclear disorders or diseases.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
  • Master of Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing Pediatric Cardiology sub-specialization.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Valid Practice License.
  • Professional Indemnity Cover.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
