Lecturer in Information Communication Technology
Job Objective
The purpose of this position is to carry out teaching roles, student mentoring, research, and other duties in liaison with the university’s overall goal.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chairman of the Department of Information Communication Technology, Media, and Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Delivering high-quality lectures.
- Teaching Information Communication Technology-related course units as allocated by the Head of the Department.
- Designing, developing, planning, and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
- Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
- Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
- Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
- Seeking and participating in consultancies.
- Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
- Disseminating research outputs.
- Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a relevant PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Communication, or a related field from an accredited and recognized university.
- At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow/Tutorial Fellow.
- Has evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- Attracted research funds.
- Has evidence of attending and contributing at academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Is a member of a relevant professional body.
- Is up to date with industry standards.
