Description:
A leading government-sector organization in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical expertise, excellent analytical abilities, and the capability to manage financial operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting activities, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance function. Candidates with previous UAE experience and a solid understanding of financial reporting standards are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal policies
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in a timely manner
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Coordinate effectively with internal and external auditors during audit activities
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions
• Support finance process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience
• Previous UAE accounting experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent communication skills in both Arabic and English
• Strong knowledge of:
• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Financial reporting and reconciliation procedures
• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
• ERP systems, financial software, and advanced Excel functions
