Trainer – Dph (Detergents, Personal Care & Home Care)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Commercial Manager (functional line) and Hypermarket & Procurement Manager (administrative line), the Trainer – DPH will deliver internal training to Trade Marketers, Sales Representatives, Team Leaders, and Category Managers, as well as external training to retail partner staff. The role ensures proper product knowledge, compliance awareness, merchandising standards, FIFO discipline, planogram adherence, and customer engagement.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Training Delivery
- Deliver structured product knowledge training across all DPH categories.
- Train staff on merchandising, planogram compliance, product handling, and customer engagement.
- Conduct assessments and maintain certification records for all field-facing staff.
External Training Delivery
- Train retail partner staff, including supermarket linesmen and specialty store personnel.
- Tailor content based on outlet type, product mix, and regulatory requirements.
Training Planning & Scheduling
- Develop bi-weekly training schedules aligned with new product launches, promotional campaigns, and compliance gaps.
- Maintain an up-to-date training calendar accessible to all relevant departments.
Training Materials Development & Management
- Develop and maintain product manuals, merchandising guides, compliance guidelines, display standards, and sales scripts.
- Update materials within five working days of new products, SKU changes, or regulatory updates.
- Coordinate with creative teams to produce supporting training content.
Reporting & Knowledge Management
- Maintain comprehensive training records, attendance, assessment results, and certification status.
- Provide structured feedback to Category Managers on execution gaps observed during training.
- Submit bi-weekly schedules, training reports, post-training assessment results, and external training coverage reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Marketing, or related field.
- Certification in Training & Development, Instructional Design, or Adult Learning is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years’ experience in training, coaching, or capability development, preferably in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or household product environments.
- Experience with regulated products (e.g., pharmaceuticals) is an added advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and adult learning delivery skills.
- Good understanding of DPH product categories and retail execution standards.
- Ability to design structured training programs and simplify technical information.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, planning, and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail in certification tracking and training documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital training tools.
- High discipline, consistency, and accountability in training execution.
