Job Description

Role Summary

  • KHF is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant IT and Communications Officer to manage the Federation's information technology infrastructure and lead its communications, digital presence, and member engagement initiatives. This is a dual-function role ideal for a professional who is equally comfortable troubleshooting network issues and designing compelling member newsletters.

Key Responsibilities
Information Technology

  • Manage and maintain KHF's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software systems.
  • Provide first-line technical support to staff, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and liaise with vendors for escalated support.
  • Oversee data security, backups, and IT policy compliance, including implementation of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Manage licenses, subscriptions, and procurement of IT equipment and services. Maintain and support KHF's website, intranet, and collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365 environment).
  • Support the setup and technical management of virtual and in-person events and webinars.

Communications

  • Develop and execute KHF's digital communications strategy across the website, email, and social media platforms.
  • Produce and disseminate member communications, including newsletters, advisories, and event invitations.
  • Create compelling multimedia content, graphics, and infographics aligned with KHF's brand identity.
  • Manage and grow KHF's social media presence and monitor engagement analytics. Support the production of policy documents, reports, presentations, and publications for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain KHF's brand standards across all communication materials and member-facing platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT support, communications, or hybrid IT/comms role, preferably in a membership organization, NGO, or professional association.
  • Experience managing websites (WordPress or similar CMS) and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or equivalent).
  • Competence in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Express, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of networking, cloud services, and IT security fundamentals.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to produce clear, professional content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
